How does RuneScape Grand Exchange Work?
August 11 2021

Old School RuneScape is one of the very few games with a decades-long loyal player base and that comes with its own perks working well for both the game as well as the players. One of the very important aspects in this regard is the OSRS Gold, which has grown out to be so in-demand that a lot of players have started trading in gold and the Grand Exchange has become one of the biggest in-game exchanges where the players can easily trade the in-game items to earn a ton of profit (not always).

It started all the way back in 2015 by voting or poll that crossed over 75% of the players voting in favor of the exchange! And since then, it has been one of the biggest exchanges related to gaming. But a lot of new players often get confused about what it really is and more importantly how does it actually work?

So, in this article, we will guide you through everything that you need to know about RuneScape’s Grand Exchange and how you can start trading too!

What actually is Grand Exchange?
The Grand Exchange or the GE is an official in-game trading system or platform that lets the players in the game trade (buy/sell) in-game items, kind of how every other exchange in the world works but not exactly, as the RuneScape Grand Exchange has a bunch of rules that the players have to follow, which we will discuss later in this article.

The Grand Exchange exists in the middle of Varrock and Edgeville, you can also check out the exact location on the official OSRS website. And there are actually a ton of ways to get to the Grand Exchange, you can just follow the one that fits you best.

●Firstly, You can use the tunnel on the Northwest side of the GE to get there but it’ll require you to have at least 21 Agility.
●Secondly, If you own a ring of wealth, you can just get there using a charge.
●But if you are a somewhat beginner to the game, you can just find it on the map and start walking towards it, it doesn't require anything except for some willpower, maybe!
●Or lastly, you can just get to the spirit tree northeast of RS Grand Exchange using the Ardougne cloak's teleport which will ultimately get you to the Grand Exchange.

How does the Grand Exchange Works?
There are quite a few rules that the players have to follow in order to trade in the Grand Exchange. Well, first things first, you will need to have some exchange slots to buy and sell the items. Now if you are a member, you will get up to 8 Grand exchange slots but if you are not a member, you will only get up to 3 of these.

Now the trading works pretty much the same way as it’d in real-life exchanges, without having to trade with the buyer or seller directly. Once the trade is finished or even partially finished, your gold or the item that you traded for, will already be in your bank for you. Now, you might be wondering, how do we know when a trade is completed, well easy enough, once the trade is finished you get a notification in the chatbox that your trade is completed or even when the status of your trade changes!

Based on the market fluctuation, if the demand is higher and the supply is low the price will drop and vice versa. But if they stay balanced, the prices remain the same.

How to know the Current Price?
Well, there are certain guides that show you the current prices of the items in the GE, which are tradeable.

●Farid Morrisane - Ores
●Relebo Blinyo - Logs
●Bob Barter - Herbs
●Hofuthand - Weapons and armours
●Murky Matt - Runes

However, there are a lot of non-tradeable items as well, that you can not sell or buy in the Grand Exchange. I Hope, this gives you at least some idea of what the GE is and How you can buy or sell items at the Grand Exchange.
